Description Technical Specs & Certificate

This is a very nice soshuden naoe-shizu style Shodai Iganokami Kinmichi Sun-Nobi Tanto with Fujishiro Matsuo certification. This powerful looking sword is typical of the Keicho period (1596) which came as the Koto period was ending and the Shinto period was beginning. Tokogawa Ieyasu Shogun had taken control of Japan and the major fighting was over. Some of the characteristics of the swords of this time are the wide, but thin blade.

The sword is in a beautifully made shirasaya.
